Titleist TSR series Review

Titleist TSR series Review

Titleist TSR series

The Titleist TS series has been around for six years. The Titleist Speed Project has been pioneering the best in drivers since they started with their Tsi Model. This fall marks a new creation sure to impress: the TSR driver.

The Open in July saw a lot of success with this new driver. Titleist drivers have won the past three consecutive championships, and this year’s new model continued that success. There were 21 TSR models in play at the open. I’m sure you remember when Cameron Smith barely edged out Cameron Young— with this very model.

The TSR became available worldwide on Sept. 23rd. You will want to get your hands on this one!

There are three models, TSR2, TSR3, and TSR4, that provide different benefits to meet your needs.

The engineers at Titleist have made aerodynamics their priority when it comes to increasing speed, as they have figured it is the most efficient route to superior performance. The new shape (dubbed the “boat tail”) moved significant drag from the sole.

The Variable Face Thickness technologies offer different benefits depending on what a player is looking for—the TSR2 and TSR4 feature multi-plateau layering that creates a lot of forgiveness for off-center shots. Titleist has used NASA-grade titanium for a few years, and this trend continues with the TSR.

TSR 2

The TSR 2 is for the player who makes contact across the entire face. This model produces exceptional forgiveness and ball speed from every strike anywhere on the front, whether pure or mishit. Novice golfers who have issues with consistency would greatly benefit. The CG shift and multi-layered VTF boosts speed significantly.

All of the new TSR models are slimmer and allow you to play your best without feeling weighed down.

Benefits

  • High Launch & Low Spin
  • Optimized Speed
  • Increased Stability Across Face
  • Player-Preferred Shaping

Features

  • Multi-Plateau VFT (Variable Face Thickness) Design
  • Aerospace Grade Titanium
  • Improved Aerodynamics
  • SureFit Adjustability

TSR 3

The TSR 3 is best for center hitters with little problems with consistency. Their Speed Ring technology creates a focal point of pure speed and can be adjusted to fit you. Your sweet spot is optimized through their creation of CT/COR relationships into one central point of pure efficiency. SureFit Adjustable CG Track System allows you to change the hitting zone to fit you accurately.

The hosel is also adjustable, so you can make great contact every time. Premium and Featured shafts can be chosen based on your preferences and needs as a golfer.

Benefits

  • Precise Speed & Distance
  • Exceptional Feel & Playability
  • Player-Preferred Shaping

Features

  • Speed Ring VFT (Variable Face Thickness) Technology

TSR 4

The TSR 4 is the anti-spin driver. Spin causes issues for many golfers, and Titleist does their best to eliminate those with the 4. There are two adjustable settings to reduce spin: back and front.

TSR 4 provides options to allow even more players to experiment with gaining distance through lower spin.

The forward setting produces a maximum spin reduction, while the back is more moderate – creating more of a TSR3.5 performance profile. This driver also includes hosel adjustability.

Benefits

  • Dual CG Design
  • Piercing Trajectories
  • Compact, Player-Preferred Shaping

Features

  • Multi-Plateau VFT (Variable Face Thickness) Design
  • Adjustable Spin Control
  • Aerospace Grade Titanium
  • Improved Aerodynamics
  • SureFit Adjustability
